Sunny Strasburg, LMFT & Stacia Butterfield invite your participation on April 5, 2020
to a Holotropic Breathwork experience in Salt Lake City, Utah
Consciousness research conducted in the second half of the twentieth century brought revolutionary changes into psychology and psychotherapy regarding the nature of consciousness and its relationship to matter, dimensions of the human psyche, the roots of emotional and psychosomatic disorders, and therapeutic strategy. The new findings showed that the roots of emotional problems reach much deeper than postnatal biography, to domains not yet recognized by mainstream theoreticians and clinicians (perinatal and transpersonal). They also revealed new effective healing strategies that can reach these deep domains of the psyche.
This workshop explores Holotropic Breathwork, a psychospiritual experiential method developed by Stan and Christina Grof that is based on these new principles. It uses a combination of breathing, evocative music, focused bodywork, and mandala drawing to explore realms of the psyche ordinarily hidden to awareness. Holotropic sessions mediate access to emotionally relevant childhood memories and other biographical issues, sequences of psychological death and rebirth, and a broad spectrum of transpersonal experiences. Participants alternate in the roles of experiencers and “sitters” and the group is supported by a team of experienced trained facilitators.
This is a deep dive into breathwork with two 3-hour breathing sessions. This all day Holotropic
Breathwork workshop (as created and designed by world renowned psychiatrist Dr. Stan Grof who also co-created Transpersonal Psychology) is for both new and experienced breathers. We will meet in a lovely and comfortable mansion located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, with ample parking. This is only workshop of its kind being held in Utah for this year; normally one would need to travel to California for a Holotropic Breathwork experience.
The early registration cost for this event is $350.
Registration includes a full 12-hour day (9am-9pm) for the Holotropic Breathwork experience, materials for creating a mandala drawing, and facilitated debriefing session. You’ll need a mat and eyeshades, or you can bring your own. All participants will need to bring a sheet, light blanket and pillows. We will provide refreshments throughout the day, but please bring any food you would enjoy and that will sustain you.
After we receive your registration you will receive an email with directions to the venue, an invitation to a zoom orientation (required for first-time holotropic breathwork participation) and additional information and reminders for the day.
